Our Edge Profiles
You can select from a range of edge profiles to personalize your quartz countertops. Each edge profile is made with exacting standards in our purpose-built Wembley facility to provide a uniform and sleek finish.
Beveled Edge Profile
A beveled edge has a flat square face but is cut at a 45-degree angle along the top front edge of the stone. This angled cut is known as a bevel—the bevel creates a smooth transition from the top to the side of the stone. The greater the bevel face, the deeper the bevel cut will look, which adds an understated dimension and elegance to the edge. In general, a 3 mm 45-degree polished cut has been made, and this edge finish is called an Ares edge finish.
Round Pencil Edge
The Round Pencil edge is among the more popular edge styles used for kitchen worktops, but can just as easily be used for vanity tops, upstands and splashbacks, providing a clean, continuous look. The Round Pencil edge features a square flat face, with a slightly rounded top edge, softening the overall look while still providing a modern versus dated style. Sometimes, the rounding may be more pronounced, giving it the appearance of a quarter-round edge, also called an eased edge specifically on granite finishes.
Half Bullnose Profile
The Half Bullnose profile, which is a Round-Over edge, presents a gently rounded top edge instead of an abrupt square corner. This profile has a smooth contour that is elegant both in use and appearance, with an emphasis on safety. It also exposes more of the stone’s cross-section, revealing the natural depth and pattern of the stone while creating a smooth, easy-to-clean finish.
Ogee Edge Profile
The Ogee edge profile has the characteristic double curve shape of an "S" when looking at the profile from the side. It represents a combination of concave line and convex line for a decorative old-world style. It is often regarded as one of the more elegant and ornate edge profile styles and is frequently chosen for classic traditional or luxury designs. It is an enduring edge profile style that adds depth and decoration to typical kitchen countertops and vanities, as well as to other interior stone surfaces.
Boston Profile
The Boston profile provides a traditional and timeless finish that complements traditional and elegant kitchens. It is popular amongst homeowners desiring detail and craftsmanship. The profile introduces okay detail and artistic formality to the worktop edge and brings elegance and beauty to the overall design.
Chamfer Profile
The Chamfer profile has a subtle sloping cut to the top edge, which creates the appearance of a slimmer, more elegant surface. This is a favorite choice for kitchen worktops, but it is recommended for vanity tops, upstands, and splashbacks as well. It has clean lines and a sleek finish that add a modern, minimalist feel to any design.
Shark Nose Profile
A Shark Nose profile is a streamlined, modern edge treatment seen in contemporary, handleless kitchen designs. The edge is slightly chamfered and gives the appearance of a thinner worktop, helping to support the minimalist look. The edge can be slightly rounded for comfort, but the design allows for a finger to easily slip underneath the edge for a handle while retaining facially clean, streamlined edges.
Triple Edge Profile
The Triple Edge profile features a unique shape that resembles a demi bullnose with the addition of a beveled notch on the top edge that creates depth and character. This profile can showcase the talent of the stone fabricator because specialized router bits are able to create an even more elaborate edge profile as seen in the Triple Waterfall finish. Expert fabricators can manipulate the edges of the stone for a customized edge through lamination or precise modification to create a one of a kind edge. If a natural rugged look is desired, the edge can be chiseled by hand or through pneumatic texturing to mimic the appearance of a naturally fractured stone. The surface is then sanded and buffed lightly, and finally finished with a clear coat polish for added texture and shine.
